According to QS
BRICS University Rankings 2018, there are around 65 top Indian Institutions and
universities. The annual ranking of the most effective outstanding
establishments and universities within the 5 major developing economies of the
BRICS countries: (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa). According the
QS BRICS University Ranking 2018, the top 10 universities in India this year,
including University of Delhi. Information on each university’s strengths in the
QS World University Rankings by Subject, and how they performed in the QS World
University Rankings 2018.
1. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IITB)
Indian Institute of Technology Bombay (IIT Bombay) is the 1st Rank in India. The IIT
Bombay overhaul the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore as the highest-ranked
university in India in BRICS this year. Indian Institute of Technology Bombay
(IITB) also ranked 179th in the
world University rankings. IIT Bombay is the second Indian Institute of
Technology to be founded (in 1958) in the Act of Parliament. IIT Bombay is also
recognized internationally as a leader in the field of engineering education
and research. IIT Bombay is also noted for innovative short-term courses.
2. Indian Institute of Science
(IISC) Bangalore
According to the
QS BRICS Ranking 2018, The Indian Institute of Science Bangalore (IISc
Bangalore) is the 2nd
Rank in India. IISc Bangalore is the famous higher Institution in India. IISc Bangalore
is a public higher research institute and there are 3 major courses science,
engineering and design and management. IISC Bangalore is known world-wide for
his 12th best subjects like electrical engineering, chemical
engineering and materials science.
3. Indian Institute of Technology
Delhi (IITD)
Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT Delhi) is
the 3rd Rank Institute in India. IIT Delhi was established in 1961 with a
vision to contribute to India. IIT Delhi has 325-acre campus in the Hauz Khas
area of New Delhi.

of Technology Madras (IITM) is the 4th Rank Institute in India and
placed 18th Rank in BRICS and Joint 264th Rank in the
World this year. IIT Madras also recognized as an Institute of National Importance
by the Government of India. IIT Madras was established in 1959. There are
around 9,000 students. It is also ranked 11 subjects globally.

Kanpur (IITK)
Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur (IIT Kanpur) is the ranked 5th Rank in India
and ranked 21st BRICS countries and joint
ranked 293rd in the world. Indian Institute of Technology,
Kanpur was established 1959 by the Indian Government. IIT, Kanpur is the Public
Research Institute. IIT Kanpur has around 1,055-acre campus and it is just located
outside the Kanpur City in the state of Uttar Pradesh. Around 6,500 students
studying in the IIT Kanpur. IIT Kanpur has also a strong research orientation,
and achieves very high scores for the papers per faculty and staff with
PhD indicators in the BRICS ranking. Its 12 best subjects ranked
globally.
6. Indian Institute of Technology
Kharagpur (IITKGP)
Indian Institute
of Technology, Kharagpur (IITKGP) it the ranked 6th in India. And
also ranked 24th in BRICS countries and joint
ranked 308th in the world. Indian Institute of Technology
Kharagpur, IITKGP was the first Indian institute of technology to be founded.
IITKGP was established in 1951 to train scientists and engineers following
India’s independence four years earlier. IIT Kharagpur shares similar subject
strengths, appearing in 15 subject rankings, including the top 50 for
mineral and mining engineering and the top 150 for all other engineering
branches.
7. University of Delhi

Delhi it the first non-IIT institution to feature in this list of top
universities in India. University of Delhi ranked 1st University and
ranked 7th Institution in India. The University Ranked 41st in BRICS Countries
and ranked top 500 in the world University ranking. University
of Delhi the largest of these top Indian universities. There are around 132,435
regular students and the University of Delhi receives top-20 scores for its
reputation among both academics and employers, and is considered one of the
best multidisciplinary institutions in the country.
8. Indian Institute of Technology
Roorkee (IITR)
The Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) is the ranked 8th in India. IIT
Roorkee only has gained the status of IIT as recently as 2001. Before this IIT
Roorkee is known as the University of Roorkee. University of Roorkee founded in
1847 as an engineering college and given university status in 1949. After that
in 1955, IIT Roorkee became the first university in India to offer postgraduate
degree/programs in engineering and technology.

8th Position in India and 52nd ranked in BRICS Countries
in this year. Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is the sixth institute of
technology to be established in 1994. IIT Guwahati has around 700-acre campus and
it is considered the most beautiful campus in the country. IIT Guwahati is located
on the banks of the river Brahmaputra, just outside the city of Guwahati.
Guwahati also the Beautiful States of Northeast India. IIT Guwahati also ranked
within the top 550 Institution in the world rankings. The IIT Guwahati has
around 4,000 students.
10. University of Calcutta
University of
Calcutta is also known for best university of the country. University of
Calcutta is the top universities in India in 2018. University of Calcutta, ranked 10th Institute in Indian and Ranked
64th in BRICS Countries and within the top 800 in
the world rankings. University of Calcutta established in 1857 in Calcutta. University
of Calcutta on the model of the University of London, and the university now
has 14 campuses spread across Kolkata. There are around 22, 500 students
studying in the University of Calcutta.
